Puke-rangiora signed the Cook Strait (Henry Williams) sheet of the Treaty of Waitangi on 16 May 1840 at Waikanae. He may have been Te Pukerangiora, the son of Te Rere-tā-whangawhanga and brother of Wiremu Kīngi te Rangitāke, both of whom signed the treaty on this occasion.
